In June 2021 we embarked on a 10-day trip through Tanzania as a family of five (tween, teen, mom, dad and grandma, aka “Bibi”) with Africa Nature Photography & Safaris, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience from our guide, Peter. We began in Tarangire, then traveled to the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. In all three parks, Peter expertly navigated the bumpy roads and knew exactly where to go to see the animals we’d hoped to see. We easily saw 50+ lions, elephants, and hyenas (to name a few). A couple of us were also particularly interested in birds, and Peter’s ability to spot and identify various species blew us away. We catalogued 184 bird species in Tanzania!
Peter also helped us navigate the ins and outs of each place we stayed, advocating for us at all times without ever being asked to do so. He was great with both kids and Bibi. Peter is upbeat, curious, funny (with a contagious smile) and full of knowledge about Tanzania’s wildlife and their habitats. Honestly, the hardest thing about leaving Tanzania was saying goodbye to Peter.
