Ballooning over the Serengeti and Tarangire National Parks is superlatively an experience of a lifetime! This balloon ride gives our traveller a greatest opportunity to view animals in three dimensions.
A balloon safari in Serengeti is simply an amazing once in a lifetime experience. The plains of the Serengeti are particularly suited to balloon flights which are largely convenient. There are four prime locations that you can ride a hot air balloon in the Serengeti national park.
In the Central part of Serengeti, wildlife gathers all-year-round in the Seronera River Valley where there is a permanent source of water. The Great Migration tends to pass through this area around May and June as well as November and December.
The Western corridor of Serengeti which includes the Grumeti River offers a great scene of transitory river crossings during the Great Migration in June and July, when hundreds of thousands of gnu, brave the giant Nile crocodiles, and many perish while others detour to evade the perilous river.
In the South Serengeti plains, the wildebeests assemble from December onwards, to calve in February, an experience not to be missed on your custom-made nature travel to Serengeti.
The Mara River flows across Northern Serengeti and hosts the annual wildebeest migration crossings from July to October. The area which is also known as ‘Wogakuria’ is exceptional because of the kopjes, rolling hills, secret valleys, and of course, the river which in itself is a sight to behold. Riding the balloon around these rolling landscapes and over the river when the wildebeest are crossing is an overwhelming experience.
Gliding across the woodland dotted with giant baobab trees and over the meandering river on a balloon is simply an addition once in a lifetime experience at Tarangire National Park. It offers you the chance to witness the beauty and magnificence game-rich wilderness areas of Tanzania in an exclusive setting.
