Poachers Hide

A visit to Poacher’s Hide at Tarangire is always breathtaking. This historical old baobab tree served as a hiding place for poachers until the mid-1990s when the park rangers discover it.

Arusha National Park

The shift between unappealing urban chaos and pristine mountain trekking trails is rarely so abrupt as it is in Arusha National Park.
One of Tanzania’s most beautiful and topographically varied protected areas, Arusha national park is dominated by Mount Meru, an almost perfect volcanic cone with a spectacular crater. It also sanctuaries Ngurdoto Crater (often dubbed Little Ngorongoro crater),
with its swamp-filled floor and lost-world feel.

momella lakes

The area around the Momella lakes is surrounded by green hills. Here you will find seven lakes, surrounded by bush savanna and acacias. Some bowls were molded by the previous eruption of Mount Meru, which has a porous ground allowing enough water to the surface to form the lakes. The prime and also most fascinating ones are the Big and the Small Momella Lakes. Flamingos mainly prefer the Small Momella Lake due to its high level of alkaline.

ngurdoto crater arusha national park

A visit to Ngurdoto crater on a safari to Arusha National park is always breathtaking. This volcanic crater is 3.6 km in diameter and 100 meters deep is surrounded by forest whilst the crater floor is a swamp and is home to large herds of buffaloes, black and white colobus and blue monkeys, among dozens other features in in the area.
